Correct name

Tradescantia zebrina ‘Flame Dance’.

Name status

Not established, an invalid unpublished name used to sell the cultivar Tradescantia zebrina ‘Flame Dance’. Posted online with photos by Plantlin (2019). No hardcopy publication has been found, and the name is reused within the genus, so it cannot be established (Brickell et al., 2016, Art. 27.1, 21.23). The established name ‘Flame Dance’ is now accepted for this cultivar. Not to be confused with: Tradescantia zebrina ‘Mme Lequesne’ [1882], the earliest use of the name, and now an established synonym for a different cultivar.
