If you join the mailing list
To sign up for the mailing list, you need to give your email address. This is stored indefinitely to send you the mailing list emails.
Under UK GDPR, the lawful basis for processing this information is your consent. You can remove your consent at any time by unsubscribing, and I will then delete your email address.
If you leave a comment
To leave a comment, you need to give a name and email address, and you can optionally give a website. Your IP address and browser user agent string are also collected automatically to help detect spam. This information is stored indefinitely so that your future comments are not marked as spam.
Under UK GDPR, the lawful basis for processing this information is your consent. You can remove your consent at any time by contacting me and asking me to delete your comments and associated information.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Your Gravatar profile picture will then be publicly visible next to your comment. You can find out more about how Gravatar uses your information in their privacy policy.
When you leave a comment you can choose to save your name, email address, and website in your browser. These are stored using cookies which last for one year.
