Correct nameUnspecified.
Name statusNot established, an invalidly published name used to sell multiple different cultivars.

Published by Zhāng (2014, p. 101), and listed online by FloraXchange (2022) and Eden Collection (2022). The name is in Latin form, so cannot be established (Brickell et al., 2016, Art. 21.11).

The plant shown by Zhāng (2014, p. 101) is Tradescantia spathacea ‘Sitara’. The listing by FloraXchange (2022) gives the alternative name ‘Purpusii’, but the photo shows Tradescantia zebrina ‘Superba’. The page from Eden Collection (2022) shows photos of two Tradescantia zebrina cultivars, ‘Superba’ and ‘Violet Hill’. Based on this ambiguity, the name ‘Compacta’ cannot be linked to a single specific plant.
