| Name status | Not established, an invalidly published name used to sell the cultivar Tradescantia zebrina ‘Violet Hill’. Published with a photo but no description, by Athena Brazil (2013, p. 55). No description has been found, and the name has previously been used in the genus, so it is not established (Brickell et al., 2016, Arts. 27.1, 30.1). The older and more widely-used name ‘Violet Hill’ is now accepted for this cultivar. Not to be confused with: Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Purple’, the accepted name for a different cultivar. Tradescantia pallida ‘Purple’, an established synonym for another cultivar. |
