Correct name

Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Alba Major’.

Name status

Established synonym, another published name for the cultivar Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Alba Major’. Established with a description by James Backhouse & Son (1889, p. 38). Based on the description, it is assumed to refer to the same plant as Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Alba Major’. ‘Alba Major’ is the more widely-used name and so is now accepted. Not to be confused with: Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Major’ [1839], the accepted name for a different cultivar. Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Major’ [1917], a synonym for another cultivar.
