Correct name

Tradescantia fluminensis ‘Variegata’.

Name status

Established synonym, another published name for the cultivar Tradescantia fluminensis ‘Variegata’. Established with a description by Vaughan’s Seed Store (1894, p. 69). The earlier and more widely-used name ‘Variegata’ is now accepted for this cultivar. Not to be confused with: Tradescantia fluminensis ‘Aurea’ [1935], the accepted name for a different cultivar. Tradescantia spathacea ‘Aurea’, an established synonym for a different cultivar. Tradescantia cerinthoides ‘Aurea’ [2021], an invalid name for another cultivar.
