Correct name

Tradescantia zanonia ‘Mexican Flag’.

Name status

Not established, an invalidly published name for the cultivar Tradescantia zanonia ‘Mexican Flag’. Published with a description by Graf (1959, p. 431, 969). The name is in Latin form, so cannot be established (Brickell et al., 2016, Art. 21.11). The valid and more widely-used name ‘Mexican Flag’ is now accepted for this cultivar. Not to be confused with: Tradescantia ‘Alba Lineata’, a name of questionable status. Tradescantia ‘Albo Lineata’, an invalidly published name.
