Description
Described by Radler (2014), with reference to the RHS Colour Chart (3rd edition).

Growth habit | Mounded and spreading. 45cm high x 60cm spread. |
Foliage | Leaves about 32cm long and 1cm wide, hairless. |
Flowers | Flower stalks are about 1.5cm long and 6mm wide, reddish purple (78A). Buds are about 1cm long and 6mm wide, strong yellow green (144A). Sepals are strong yellow green (144A) and hairy on the outer surface, strong yellow green (144B) on the inner surface. Flowers are about 3.5cm across. Petals are strong violet (89C) inside, and strong violet (89D) outside. Stamen filaments and style are strong violet (89C). Anthers are vivid yellow (14A). Stigma is light yellow green (145C). |
Comparisons | Compared to Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Little Doll’, it is taller and wider. Compared to Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Blue Stone’, it has more blooms. Compared to Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Concord Grape’, forms larger and more blue flowers. |
