Origins | Open-pollinated seedling found at the Almost Eden gardens, assumed to be a seedling of Tradescantia (Andersoniana Group) ‘Blueberry Sundae’. (Jeff McMillian of Almost Eden, personal correspondence, August 2022). |
Classification | Like other hardy garden hybrids, it is now placed in the Andersoniana Group. These hybrids are sometimes mislabelled as Tradescantia virginiana or the invalid botanical hybrid Tradescantia × andersoniana. |

Description

Foliage | Sturdy stems and a mound of dark blue-green foliage. |
Flowers | 3-4cm wide, deep indigo blue with brightly contrasting yellow stamens. |
Comparisons | Compared to Tradescantia ohiensis, ‘Blueberry’s Baby’ is bigger overall. |
