Growth habitSemi-evergreen perennial. 30cm high.
FoliageThick succuent stems with two-ranked leaves. The leaves are dully olive to grey-green in colour, sometimes blushed with purple. New growth is heavily covered with cobwebby silver-white hairs.

In shade the stems become elongated and trailing, with much greener foliage.
FlowersMagenta flowers in summer and autumn.
ComparisonsVery similar to the species.
