Description
Preserved in a herbarium specimen (“Tradescantia mundula ‘Green Hill'”, 2023).
Described with reference to the RHS Colour Chart (6th Edition: 2019 reprint).

Growth habit | Fast-growing, with low creeping stems which will sprawl or trail out of containers. |
Foliage | Stems are 1-3mm wide, with internodes 1-5cm long, smooth except for one line of tiny hairs running along the length. Colour ranges from moderate olive brown (N199A) to greyish purplish red (N77B). Leaves are pointed ovals with a short narrow stalk between the sheath and the blade, 2-6cm long and 1.5-3cm wide. The lower and sometimes upper surfaces are covered with tiny bristly hairs. The upper surfaces are greyish olive green (NN137A) to dark yellowish green (139A). Lower surfaces are moderate yellowish green (147B) to dark purple (79A) with the veins contrasting in moderate yellow green (138B). Leaf sheaths are moderate yellow green (N148D) to greyish purplish red (N77B). |
Flowers | 8-10mm across. Petals are pure white. Anthers are yellow, stamen filaments and pistil are white. |
